Tric Malcolm
Pou Ārahi
(Monday through Friday) tric@korehiakai.org.nz
Ko Tangata Tiriti ahau. With my little whānau I live in the shadow and protection of ngā maunga - Kaukau, Otari and Ahumairangi in Pōneke.
It is a pleasure and a privilege to be part of the leadership of Kore Hiakai Zero Hunger Collective where we dream of creating a food secure Aotearoa. We have worked hard to draw together a dynamic collection of passionate people and organisations who have this same dream: An Aotearoa where all thrive.
We know that are our economic and social systems drive our current increasing levels of food related poverty. The values at the heart of those systems come from our colonial heritage that favour extraction and financial gain over the wellbeing of people and planet. When we choose to put mana at the centre of our decision-making and our systems, all can thrive because there is enough. We can have a Food Secure Aotearoa!

Jennie Sim
Kairangahau
(Tuesday to Thursday) jennie@korehiakai.org.nz
Kia ora, I’m Jennie, I was born and grew up in the deep south of Te Waipounamu, with Scottish, Irish and English ancestry. Te Whanganui-a-Tara /Wellington has been home for Steve & me for 28 years, together we have two awesome rangatahi who regularly teach me loads about myself and the world. I have a background in church and community ministry, and in corporate communication.
As kairangahau/researcher my mahi seeks to shine the light on the root causes of food insecurity. I joined the team in March 2021 and bring to Kore Hiakai my passion for social justice, especially seeking to give voice to those whose voice is silenced or unheard. I long for a world where all have enough so they can enjoy life in all its fullness – a food secure Aotearoa would be a great start!
